3. Assessment Interview

One (1) hour Assessment (exit) Interviews are required for all clients with New Hampshire convictions or for New Hampshire drivers who have a conviction for DWI that is listed on their New Hampshire driving records. These interviews are conducted by a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC). Individual assessments and treatment plans (usually required by He-A 900) are formulated.

This interview applies only to those clients who have DWI convictions on their New Hampshire or Vermont driving records. For clients of the W/IDIP programs, this 45-60 minute interview generally occurs on a weekday of the week following the completion of your class sessions. Appointment times are chosen during one of the W/IDIP sessions. For Phase II and Multiple Offender clients, this interview will be conducted on the final day of the program.

Clients receive a preliminary assessment and (where applicable) continuing intervention recommendations from the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) who conducts the interview. Each client receives a summary report, recorded on Form IDIP 022, and more detailed information contained in a comprehensive aftercare packet. Clients are encouraged to actively participate in this assessment process. The most valuable assessments occur when the client and the LADC agree. The administrative and continuing intervention process is fully explained.

Please note: Under the New Hampshire Code of Administrative Rules (He-A 700; He-A 800; He-A 900) you cannot be more than fifteen (15) minutes late for this interview. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will be required to reschedule and pay a fifty dollar ($50.00) missed appointment fee.
